As you know by now, my daughter is working hard on getting our Shopify store Owl Hour Creative Studio populated with everything that’s for sale — in between working, caring for her newborn, running a household, and about twenty thousand other things. She’s also the genius behind the website building.
The Challenge
NocteaDea (my daughter) had to completely redo our store, which was frustrating after she had already poured so many hours into the design and layout. And wow — she had it really thought out and fancy. Talk about an impressed Mom here!
Only when it was ready to go fully live did we discover that another person had snuck in and taken the name she had been working with. That meant scrap everything, rethink, restructure, redo — all on a tight timeline so it could launch in time for the Winter Holiday Season.
She had researched the name beforehand, and it hadn’t been in use. But I guess “great minds think alike,” and another completely unrelated creator had the same idea — just faster.
The Inspiration
So we needed a new name. While we were discussing everything via Messenger (always after midnight, often until 2 a.m., since that was her only quiet time), I joked about calling our conversations “Owl conferences.”
In good old NocteaDea fashion, that sparked an idea. She incorporated my remark into the new name of the Shopify store.
She gave me multiple choices she had come up with, and together we decided we liked Owl Hour Creative Studio best.
What You’ll Find
Right now, you’ll slowly see only my products appear for sale. But as things catch up and NocteaDea gets into the swing of things — with her time management a bit more under control — she’ll also be setting up her Digital Services – Web Design Services and several other offerings from the same link.
My daughter Diana, aka Chameleon, is joining in with hand‑drawn greeting cards, which you’ll see labeled under Chameleon Cards. I’ll continue to create a few hand‑drawn cards myself as well, since our styles are different.
At the moment, I’m focusing on crochet items, hand‑painted pieces, and wood‑burned creations. Soon, however, I’ll begin designing and creating jewelry for sale too.
